How It Works
Don’t overthink this part. You’ll do that later anyway.
01
Build your squad
Pick riders within a fixed budget. Big names cost more but deliver points. Underdogs cost less but reward bold predictions.
02
Set your lineup
Before each stage, choose 9 of your riders. Mountains? Sprints? Time trial? Just make sure your lineup is in before the start.
03
Pick your captain
One rider scores double points. Pick the obvious choice and hope nothing strange happens. Or trust a feeling and spend the whole stage watching nervously.
04
Adapt when things go wrong
Because they will. With transfers Breakaway gives you room to recover from bad luck and missed starts.
Why Breakaway?
Designed around how cycling actually works
Cycling has entered an era of dominance. When a rider like Pogačar starts, the winner often feels decided. Breakaway doesn’t fight that reality, it designs around it.
Unique picks are rewarded
Picking the obvious favorite is easy. Everyone does it.
Breakaway rewards insight instead. Points are influenced by ownership impact. A big performance from a rare pick is worth more than the same result from a rider everyone owns. This shifts the focus away from copying consensus picks and toward understanding where real opportunities lie in the race.
Built for real-life chaos
Cycling rarely goes to plan. Neither should your fantasy game.
Last-minute DNS?
Bench riders automatically step in if a selected rider doesn’t start. Step outside without worrying.
Crashes, abandons, ruined GC hopes?
Watch helplessly as your GC favorite crashes on stage three, then spend the next two weeks checking standings out of obligation or make transfers and move on.
Big moments deserve big calls
One-time boosts allow you to commit fully to a stage, a rider, or a hunch.
Compete in mini-leagues
Coming laterCreate private leagues with friends, colleagues, or your cycling club. Public leagues for those who want to compete against the world. Details coming soon.
